Night To Forget At Moama For Mvb
MVB Racing posted Monday March 31, 2008.
The MVB Racing team headed to Moama’s Heartland Raceway full of determination to chase down the points lead of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series. It was a night to forget, with a poor run in the qualifying heat races and then consistent rain cancelling the night before the A-Main event.
Heading into the second last round, Van Bremen was 104 points behind series leader Matthew Reed, but after the three heat races ‘The Flying Dutchman’ is now 133 points behind with one round remaining.
It was a disastrous run for Van Bremen in the heats when he slipped through a wet spot in turn one and was caught in the incident..
“Unfortunately we were disappointing in the heats and suffered front end damage from a crash in turn one. We qualified in a lowly 13th position for the final, which wasn’t great in a smallish field,” he said.
Van Bremen did not have an opportunity to move forward in the final when the rain fell and the 25-lap final was abandoned.
The final round of the Eureka Series will be held on April 12 at Hamilton’s Western Speedway and Van Bremen will be trying everything in his power to out run Reed to the finish line.
“Obviously I need a lot of luck to win the series being 133 points down, but it is speedway racing and we won’t die wondering,” he said.
Supporting the MVB Racing team for 2007-2008 are Action Blast Cleaning, CSR Methanol, Speedway Motors and National Rod Ends.
