Steering Problems Hamper Van Bremen In Adelaide
MVB Racing posted Thursday November 22, 2007.
The frustration of steering problems hampered Mike Van Bremen’s effort in the fourth round of Wanless World Series Sprintcars at Adelaide’s Speedway City last Saturday night (November 17).
After some time in the shed this week, the Action Blast Cleaning V#6 Maxim is ready to shape up for the second round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Super Sprint Series this weekend at Warrnambool’s Sungold Stadium.
Last Saturday evening it was Van Bremen’s first outing in World Series Sprintcars competition for the season, but the night got off to a horrible start with steering problems occurring in hot laps.
“We had steering box problems in hot laps and we couldn’t fix it before time trials as we didn’t have the right equipment on the infield. Unfortunately, we did poorly in the time trials.
“I was soaked in oil and the steering was really stiff, so we couldn’t time trial inside the top 30,” Van Bremen said.
Back in the pits, the team attempted to rectify the problem, but it could not be fixed in time for the qualifying heat racing and the decision was made to exit the race meeting early.
“Probably the only highlight from the night was that we got to save some tyre wear by not racing,” Van Bremen said.
All of the focus for the MVB Racing team now turns to the second round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series this Saturday night (November 24) at Sungold Stadium.
Last month, in the opening round of the series, Van Bremen finished third and he is hopeful of another consistent result this weekend.
“We have a good chance this weekend to gather some more points and hopefully I can get a win. I’m really looking forward to returning to Warrnambool again, it’s a great place to race at,” ‘The Flying Dutchman’ enthused.
Supporting the MVB Racing team for 2007-2008 are Action Blast Cleaning, CSR Methanol, Speedway Motors and National Rod Ends.
